Foobooz, under PhillyMag, just released their list of the top 50 restaurants in Philadelphia...let’s see how many we’ve been to and if we agree!

  1. Suraya (Fishtown): Not starting off with a good showing here...none of the team has been...have you? Drop us a comment to let us know what you think!

  2. Hungry Pigeon (Queen Village): They’ve made the list before and YES we couldn’t be happier their back on it again this go around. Jamie has been there for brunch & dinner (mildly obsessed) and had nothing but great things to say about it. “What’s cool is there’s a hue table in the back which you can reserve for a big group (but definitely call ahead!).”

  3. Friday Saturday Sunday (Rittenhouse): It’s in our neck of the woods (sort of) and so a handful of us have been there for a happy hour or date night along the way! Justin lives just south of here and loves to grab a drink and ½ dozen oysters with his wife when they can find a sitter!

  4. Vernick Food and Drink (Rittenhouse): Another stop just moments from our office and while it can seem impossible to get a reservation here...Brittany has snagged a high top just off from the bar for an early dinner before. Her advice...do not overlook the ‘on toast’ section of the menu (insert drooling emoji here).

  5. Hioki (Fishtown): This one certainly jumped on the list quickly. Not open for more than a year and it’s already broken into the top 5, impressive! We’re trolling on Yelp and seeing nothing but amazing things about this place - no one’s been just yet but you better believe it is on the list!

  6. Laurel (East Passyunk): Nick Elmi does it right time and time again. With the constantly changing menu it’s one you can visit time and time again. Kassy loves it here because it’s quiet, intimate & byo…”who doesn’t love the change to bring your favorite bottle?”

  7. Vetri Cucina (Washington Square West): A Philadelphia staple in Italian cuisine; it’s one of our favorites. Our marketing coordinator’s absolute favorite date night spot & she recommends coming hungry. “It’s a tasting menu yet they still give you a menu...don’t look at it and don’t modify it if you don’t have allergies, you will be floored.”

  8. Res Ispa (Rittenhouse): A bit away from the foot traffic of Rittenhouse this isn’t one you’d pass by but it’s certainly one you’d go hunting. And Lucas went hunting! “Great Italian Byob with dishes I was craving to eat again for days!”

  9. Zahav (Society Hill): Ok we know, upon opening...even at the bar… on a Tuesday, it’s impossible to get a seat. Audrey, our Transactions & Listings Manager, loves Zahav. “Even before becoming a James Beard winner, it was always tough to get into...but now it’s nearly impossible. It’s fun to make one for a few months out and then kind of forget about it until week of when they shoot you a reminder; a great surprise!”

  10. Serpico (Bella Vista): Surprisingly...none of us have been there. Clearly we need to visit South Street more often! This one is definitely topping the list for Jamie, our newest agents! “I looked at the menu and need to get there ASAP...savory donuts, I’m in!”

While going through all 50 would not only be time consuming and boring to you, the reader...we’ve cut it down to the top 10 to review. However as mentioned...we tallied up just how many the Fresh Places team has been to collectively and we got: 34. We need to get out more! How many have you been to and what’s your favorite?
