Here’s the full scoop on what you can expect this Saturday beginning before most of us even think about leaving the house! The car-free morning is happening on North Broad Street from Arch Street through Butler. Although this event originated as a result of the streets being shut down in preparation for, and during the Pope’s visit to Philadelphia, it has evolved into something a bit more.

In addition to the streets being clear of all traffic which gives way to bikers, roller bladders, strollers & more, this year they are adding in some activities along this stretch. There will be free workout classes, dance lessons & contests as well as the Beach (1,500 square feet, 50 ton sand pit with chairs and activities).

There will be other activities and pop up events along the route so be sure to check it out - if nothing else, it’s incredible to see one of the most popular and most used streets in Philadelphia become a walker’s paradise for a few hours.
